Arkansas Storm Team Forecast: Alert Day for frost Monday morning

A Frost Advisory is in place on Monday, November 3, from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. C.S.T. for the metro. Since this is one of the first overnights of the season with frost possible and one of the first nights when many will turn on their heaters, the Arkansas Storm Team has issued an Alert Day for Monday morning. With many turning on their heaters for the first time this season Sunday night into Monday morning, a fire hazard is possible. Also, sensitive vegetation and plants to colder temperatures should be brought indoors, if possible, or properly covered. Pets should be indoors overnight, and outdoor animals should have what's necessary for the colder weather overnight.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 30s in Little Rock. Calm winds mean frost could form. Some areas of central Arkansas are forecast to drop into the mid 30s on Monday morning. Frost is likely to form on windshields, so extra time to clear vehicle windows and turn on the car heater may be needed for the morning commute.

The Alert Day will end when the Frost Advisory ends, around 9 a.m. on Monday. Late morning on Monday, temperatures warm up with a warm, calm, southerly wind and sunny skies. Highs on Monday will reach into the upper 60s. A few communities in Arkansas may reach 70 degrees on Monday afternoon.
