North Little Rock based Flyway Brewing heads east with Memphis expansion
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A North Little Rock brewing company is expanding into Memphis with its craft beers, food and entertainment offerings.
Flyway Brewing Company said in a Thursday statement that it was expanding by taking over the High Cotton Brewing Company and Edge Alley spaces in Memphis. Flyway and the City Silo Table + Pantry ownership group are leading the move, but High Cotton president Ross Avery will also have a stake in the new venture, a spokesperson said.
City Silo has restaurants in both Memphis and Little Rock. Co-owner Scott Tashie said High Cotton’s contribution is important.
“High Cotton’s contributions and innovations to Memphis's brewing scene are invaluable, and we will continue that legacy,” Tashie said.
Representatives said High Cotton would undergo renovation to reflect the mix of the two breweries. Renovations will include the addition of a music and event space.
“Memphis has such a rich history embedded in its music, and we are thrilled to be able to contribute to that,” Tashie said.
Representatives said the transformation will begin in the coming months, with a grand opening celebration to be announced.
