Little Rock Zoo hosting events for the total solar eclipse
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Those looking to spend the 2024 Great American Eclipse surrounded by wildlife will get the chance in April.
The Little Rock Zoo announced Thursday it will host three events leading up to the total solar eclipse on April 8.
Little Rock Zoo Events:
- Party on the Path Picnic
- Sunday, April 7
- Pull Up on the Path Tailgate Party
- Monday, April 8
- Eclipse Day Zoo General Admission
- Monday, April 8
The first event is intended as an opportunity for those coming from out-of-town to experience the zoo with less of a crowd than on the actual eclipse day, the announcement said. A pre-purchased ticket gives attendees admission into the zoo on April 7, games, entertainment and a picnic lunch catered by Adams Catfish. A pair of eclipse glasses will also be handed out for the following day, according to zoo representatives.
The Sunday picnic is $20 for members, $32 for non-members and kids under 3 years old are free. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.
The second option is a VIP tailgate event that includes zoo admission for six people. Beginning at 7 a.m., attendees will have access to an exclusive area with guaranteed parking.
Event planners with the zoo said the $1,500 ticket gets guest a mimosa and bloody mary continental breakfast until 9 a.m., catered lunch by Adam’s Catfish, entertainment and more. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite. According to the release, the zoo will sale 40 parking spaces.
The zoo’s last option is the general admission opportunity for 2,000 people. This event gives attendees admission into the zoo during the eclipse but does not guarantee parking.
The release said locals with free memberships and free passes will not be honored for the event. Admission is $30 per person and must be pre-purchased as there will be no ticket sales at the door. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite.
Event organizers said that all sales on all the events are final and cannot be refunded or exchanged.
