Lexicon Academy expanding at Mills University Studies High School
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Lexicon Academy of Advanced Manufacturing and Construction is launching at Mills University Studies High School.
The Lexicon Academy will offer students real-life experiences and training throughout the four years of high school, including exploring career opportunities and interacting with business leaders.
"Partnerships like the one between Lexicon and Mills University Studies High School are vital to preparing our students for success beyond the classroom," PCSSD Interim Superintendent Dr. Guess said. "When local businesses invest in our schools, they’re investing in the future of our entire community, bringing real-world relevance to our classrooms and opening doors to life-changing opportunities."
During this school year, officials said students have participated in industry tours, job shadowing, career mentoring and more to help prepare for post-graduation.
The Academies of Central Arkansas announced the launch. The regional initiative bridges the Little Rock School District, North Little Rock School District, Jacksonville North Pulaski School District and Pulaski School District with business leaders and the chambers of commerce in Pulaski County.
“This partnership reflects exactly what the Academies of Central Arkansas were built to do — connect students with meaningful opportunities that prepare them for high-wage, high-demand careers right here in central Arkansas,” Little Rock Regional Chamber President & CEO Jay Chesshir said.
