How much is a Thanksgiving dinner in Arkansas, according to Farm Bureau Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Data from Farm Bureau Arkansas shows that the average cost of a Thanksgiving dinner is estimated to be slightly higher than last year.

According to Farm Bureau Arkansas, the estimated total for a Thanksgiving dinner in 2024 is $75.04, up nearly 4% from last year’s estimated total of $72.21.

Officials said a survey was conducted to determine the estimated cost of the holiday meal for 10 in Arkansas. The survey breaks down classic menu items and updated menu items, which include ham, potatoes and green beans.

The survey says a classic menu for this year costs $49.10, down 13% from last year. The estimated cost of an updated menu is $25.94, up 65% from last year.

The entire total was taken by adding the classic menu items and updated menu items.

Data shows that the largest increase in items is in the boneless ham. This year, the survey estimated a turkey to cost $21.20, compared to $10.87 in 2023.

Though the survey says Thanksgiving costs are slightly up, Farm Bureau Arkansas officials said food prices in the state are relatively affordable compared to other states.

Officials said the survey was conducted using statewide averages from members of the Arkansas Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee, with data being collected from Nov. 1-7.
