Hot Springs police say woman killed in Saturday shooting, suspect also found dead

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – Police in Hot Springs are continuing their investigation into a weekend shooting that left a woman dead.

Officials with the Hot Springs Police Department said officers were called to a home in the 300 block of Burchwood Bay Road after getting reports of gunshots Saturday around 11:35 p.m.

After searching the area, the officers said they found the victim, identified as 27-year-old Amber Reynolds, who had suffered a gunshot wound. The officers said Reynolds had died when they found her.

Authorities said a person of interest was identified in the shooting investigation. Detectives said deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office later found that suspect dead, with deputies saying they were investigating the death as a suicide. The suspect’s identity has not been released by investigators.

HSPD officials say the investigation into the Burchwood Bay Road shooting is ongoing, with detectives still following up on leads in the case. Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact Detective Woodall with the Hot Springs Police Department at 501-321-6717.
