Arkansas property taxes due Oct. 15: What you need to know

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Tuesday is an important day in Arkansas as it is the day personal property taxes are due.

Paying the tax and avoiding the late fee is relatively straightforward. Online payment is available in most counties, and walk-in payments are accepted at the collector’s office. If a county does not offer online payment and walk-in is not an option, the mailed-in payment must have an Oct. 15 postmark.

The initial fee for late payment is 10%, but unpaid taxes can accrue until the property is sold at a tax auction to cover the debt it represents.

Payment amounts vary by county depending on local millage rates.

Arkansas maintains a Property Tax website with a county-by-county list of where to pay taxes, including links to online payment portals where they are available.
