Texas man's truck stolen while visiting Little Rock for work
LITTLE ROCK, Ark.- A man from Texas came down to Little Rock for work, but then his truck and property were stolen.
Brian Patton works for a company that fixes air conditioning units. One of their contracts was with Sam’s Club off South Bowman Road.
Patton showed up for work and went through his routine.
“I just pulled up in the back like I always do, I check in with the manager, I put my ladder up and parked my truck behind my ladder,” Patton said.
When it came time for lunch around noon, Patton went down the ladder, but his truck once parked behind it was gone.
“It was pretty stressful. I wasn’t expecting anything like that. Nothing like that has ever happened to me,” Patton said.
Patton called 911, and after hanging up, he remembered he knew something he could do to help.
“Our vehicles are all equipped with tracking devices and cameras and all sorts of things, so all I did was basically call the office and said ‘GPS my truck,’” Patton said.
The camera inside captures it all as thieves pilfered the truck.
According to the police report, the GPS showed it was at a nearby apartment complex.
When police arrived, the suspect(s) were gone, and everything inside the cab of the GMC truck was with them.
“Those two gentlemen, they took everything, every tool I own,” Patton said.
The police report shows around $8,000 of property was taken, including personal tools, an iPad Mini, and guns.
Patton says he is thankful officers were able to retrieve his truck but frustrated he will have to pay for what was stolen.
“It’s not going to be easy, and I won’t be able to bounce back as quickly as I’d like to ‘cause it’s a lot of money,” Patton said.
As of Friday afternoon, no arrests have been made concerning the theft.
